My name is Stephen. I love the Lord, because He first loved me. (1 John 4:19) I endeavor to live each day that He gives me, for Him. (2 Corinthians 5:15) Sometimes I struggle and even stumble, but God is always faithful. (2 Timothy 2:13)
My teenage years were a blur of immoral and illegal behavior, and the regrettable consequences of it. Then God saved me at the age of nineteen. I was born again, yet not discipled.
I began reading my Bible and attending various churches. However, without even the simplest guidance, I was aimless. Little progress was made. I had believed on Christ, hoping that He would change everything, but that hope faded over time. I didn’t know what was real anymore.
He was there with me, though.
Eventually, through a blessed chain of events, I joined a small group at a local church. Words truly cannot express how much of a difference that made. Those people spoke about Jesus Christ openly. They knew His word and discussed it with understanding. I listened each week, with my mouth shut, and learned. Soon, I was digging into God’s word and trying to apply it in daily life.
Those difficult years taught me an important lesson. Christians need fellowship and discipleship. So I started Christward Publishing as an outreach, to offer others some of what I lacked…
“For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ–from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:12-16)
